Worries About Your Health
For some people, when they feel physical symptoms of anxiety
(pain, usually) it can feel like there is something majorly wrong with
them. For example, anxious worriers with
a headache may end up panicking about having a brain tumour, chest pains may
lead to thoughts of “am I having a heart attack?” Usually these pains are only
a result of anxiety or stress and are nothing to worry about. Some conditions
like asthma and eczema can be made worse with worry.
If you have worries about your health;
1.Ask your doctor about your symptoms. Ask them what they
could mean and if you have any fears, confide in them.
2. If a doctor can rule out serious illness then your
symptoms are mostly likely caused by worry.
Once a doctor has ruled out a physical illness, it does not mean that you are/were
imagining things. These feelings are
caused when adrenalin is released into your body due to anxiety and can cause
very real pains. These feelings will not
hurt you.
You can learn how to control them by understanding what
causes them, learning relaxation methods and by learning a simple breathing
exercise.
